MOSTIN INNOVATION

Lens Technologies

Optical technology designed around different visual needs.

The science behind clearer vision

Eyes can differ in anatomy, pupil size, viewing behavior, and the way a frame sits on the face. Two people with similar prescriptions may therefore need different lens designs. MOSTIN combines digital freeform design, biometric information, wavefront optimization, and selected coating technologies to support more individual visual needs.

Digital Freeform Lens Design

Digital freeform manufacturing calculates and produces the optical surface with a high degree of precision. Depending on the selected lens design and prescription, this approach can help refine the usable viewing areas and the transition between distances.

  • Optimize clarity across different areas of the lens
  • Manage unwanted peripheral distortion
  • Support smoother changes between viewing distances
  • Incorporate individual wearing measurements when the design allows

The result depends on the prescription, lens category, frame, and accuracy of the fitting measurements. A lens professional can explain which design features apply to your selected lenses.

Biometric Intelligence and MOSTIN AI

Conventional lens calculations often rely on a standardized model of the eye, which cannot fully describe the differences between individual wearers. The biometric approach uses information about the wearer's visual system to refine optical calculations where the selected design and measurements allow it.

With detailed biometric measurements, the MOSTIN BY AI approach can draw on more than 7,500 data points and up to 82 biometric parameters. These can include pupil size, corneal topography, chamber depth, axial eye length, and higher-order aberrations for far and near vision. The information supports optical optimization across different gaze directions.

When Detailed Eye Measurements Are Unavailable

When D.Eye® measurements are unavailable, MOSTIN AI uses a machine-learning model trained on more than 750,000 biometric eye measurements. Standard prescription data, such as sphere, cylinder, axis, and addition, help it predict relevant biometric parameters and build an approximate individual eye model.

This is a prediction rather than a direct measurement of your eye. The benefit depends on the lens design, the prescription, and accurate fitting. Ask your eye-care professional which approach is available and appropriate for the lenses you are considering.

Wavefront and Wearing Parameter Optimization

Selected MOSTIN designs can use wavefront optimization and measurements of how the frame sits on your face. These may include vertex distance, pantoscopic tilt, wrap angle, viewing direction, and the distances used for near and intermediate tasks.

These details help the optical professional order and fit a lens for its intended position. Even an advanced design requires a suitable frame and accurate measurements to perform as intended.

Lens Coating Technologies

Lens design determines how the prescription and viewing areas are calculated. The coating affects surface properties during everyday wear. Depending on the coating option, features may include anti-reflective performance, water repellency, easier cleaning, improved durability, UV protection, greater transparency, and blue-violet light filtering.

Features vary across Clear, Clear Vision, Clear Vision Ultra, Blue Vision, and Blue Vision Ultra. Selected configurations can be enhanced with more than 27 specialized coating layers; this does not mean that every lens has the same number of layers or features. Compare MOSTIN lens coatings to see what each option offers.

Choose Technology That Fits Your Vision

The most detailed technology is not automatically the best choice for every person. Your prescription, daily viewing distances, screen use, driving, frame choice, and fitting measurements should guide the decision. Start with a current eye examination, then visit an authorized MOSTIN retailer to discuss the designs and measurements that are relevant to you.
